Introduction

Glossary

Definitions for Borker-specific terms used throughout the documentation.

Quick reference for terms you'll encounter in Borker.

Auto-Approval A setting (Settings → Schedule → Approval mode) that skips the Review tab for generated drafts. With auto-approval on, new drafts land directly in Approved. Even with auto-approval, you still need to schedule content — it just skips the review step.

Auto-Redistribute A workflow automation toggle (Settings → Schedule → Workflow Automation) that turns new blog posts from your redistribute feeds into social posts automatically on every daily run. See Auto-redistribute.

Backfill A wizard in Settings → News → (redistribute feed) → Backfill that bulk-imports historical blog posts into your Pipeline. Used when setting up redistribution for the first time or to catch up on old content.

Brand Voice The configuration (Settings → Brand & Voice) that defines how your content sounds: identity (name, tagline, motto, mission), voice attributes (formality, friendliness, clarity, brevity, technical depth), terminology (use/avoid), writing principles, and topics.

Calendar Slot A recurring weekly time in Settings → Schedule → Weekly Posting Schedule where content should be posted. Each slot has a day of week, time, platform, and content type. Daily generation produces one draft per slot scheduled for today.

Campaign A structured multi-phase content plan with a start/end date, phases, plan items, and a shared color. Used for product launches, event promotions, and themed content series. See Campaigns.

Channel A connected social account. Platforms can have multiple channels (e.g. two X accounts: company + founder). Each channel has an account type (Company, Founder, or Product) that affects content generation.

Command Center The main dashboard (home view) showing the Timeline, Calendar, and Stats views of your content, plus the AI prompt bar for on-demand generation. See Command Center.

Content Pipeline The four-tab view (Review, Approved, Scheduled, Published) where all content lives during its lifecycle. See Content Pipeline.

Content Type A label that describes what kind of post to generate: educational, reactive, case_study, thought_leadership, commentary, essay, announcement, engagement. See Topics for related config.

Daily Run The scheduled daily execution of all enabled workflow automation (daily generation, news-reactive, auto-redistribute) at the configured daily run time in your workspace timezone.

Decision Engine The algorithm that picks which topic and content type get used for each calendar slot during daily generation. Considers slot fit, recent history, and the Primary/Secondary/Adjacent topic lists.

Dismissed Status for an industry news article that you explicitly marked as not relevant. Hides it from the Pending filter but keeps it in the cache so you can Restore it later.

Feed An RSS URL monitored by Borker. Feeds can be reactive (industry news for reactive content) or redistribute (your own blog for content redistribution).

Filter Bar The row of filter pills (platform, channel, content type, campaign, etc.) below the tabs on Command Center and Pipeline. Filters are client-side and reset on page reload.

Generated A status in the campaign plan item lifecycle meaning "the AI has written content for this plan item and a linked content item exists in the Pipeline."

My Content Tab The News tab (News → My Content) that shows blog posts from your redistribute feeds with status filters (Pending, Processed, Skipped).

Phase A section of a campaign with its own date range and strategy. Most campaigns have 3 phases (Launch / Momentum / Sustain).

Plan Item A single content piece inside a campaign. Has a title, outline, platform, target date, and status (pending, approved, generated, scheduled, published).

Processed Status for a news article or blog post that has been turned into content. For articles: a reactive post was created. For blog posts: one or more social posts were generated.

Redistribute Feed An RSS feed marked as "Redistribute my content" in Settings → News. Posts from these feeds can be turned into social content via the My Content tab or auto-redistribute automation.

Relevance Keywords A list of keywords (Settings → News) that control which industry news articles Borker considers relevant for reactive content.

Run Workflow Button The orange button on the Command Center that manually triggers the daily workflow with your current automation settings. Produces drafts immediately instead of waiting for the scheduled run time.

Scheduled At The timestamp when a content item is set to publish. Setting this moves the item from the Approved tab to the Scheduled tab.

Source URL The URL the content was derived from. Set on redistribute content (links to the blog post) and reactive content (links to the news article). Shown in the content detail modal.

Sync Channels A button on the Pipeline → Scheduled/Published tabs that reconciles Borker's record of scheduled/published posts with the publishing backend. Use when something looks out of sync.

Target Date The date a campaign plan item should publish on. When the plan item gets generated, the linked content item inherits this as its scheduled date.

Topics The three lists (Primary, Secondary, Adjacent) in Settings → Brand & Voice → Topics that define what your brand actually talks about. The Decision Engine combines a topic with a content type for each generation. See Topics.

Workspace The container for all your brand's content, settings, team members, and channels. One user can own or be a member of multiple workspaces.
