Getting Started

API Keys

The one key required to get started, plus an optional one for Paragraph.

Borker requires one external API key from you: Anthropic (for Claude). If you also publish to Paragraph (long-form), you'll add a second key for that. Everything else — X, LinkedIn, and Farcaster connections, scheduling, and publishing — is handled through Borker's own UI.

Anthropic (required)

What it's for: Claude (by Anthropic) writes all your content.

How to get your key:

  1. Go to console.anthropic.com
  2. Sign in or create an account
  3. Click Create Key and copy the value (it starts with sk-ant-)
  4. In Borker, go to Settings → Workspace → API Keys and paste the key

The key is validated immediately. You'll see a green checkmark if it works.

New Anthropic accounts have low rate limits. If you're hitting "rate_limit_exceeded" errors, add a payment method to your Anthropic account to unlock higher limits.

Social platform connections

You don't need an API key for X, LinkedIn, Farcaster. Borker connects to these platforms directly through OAuth — you click "Connect account" in Settings → Channels and authorize the platform in a popup.

See Connecting Channels for the walkthrough.

Paragraph (optional)

If you connect a Paragraph channel, you'll need to paste a Paragraph API key when prompted. You can grab it from your Paragraph account settings. This key is only used to publish long-form posts to Paragraph — you don't need it if you're only publishing to X, LinkedIn, or Farcaster.

Where to manage your API keys

  • During onboarding: the API Keys step asks for your Anthropic key
  • After onboarding: Settings → Workspace → API Keys (where you can also add the Paragraph key if needed)
