Expectations & rules
What we expect from affiliates, the do's and don'ts, what you get from us, and the 7-step onboarding journey.
A clear deal works for both sides. Here's what we expect from you, and what you get in return.
What we expect from you
- Promote honestly. Don't claim Borker does things it doesn't. Don't promise income from it. Don't fake screenshots. If you exaggerate, your audience eventually loses trust in you.
- Disclose the relationship. "I'm a Borker affiliate, my link is below" is enough. Some platforms (TikTok, FTC-regulated content) require clearer language. Use what your platform expects.
- Stay on-brand. Don't represent yourself as Borker staff. You're a partner. The public media kit gives you everything you need so your content looks legit.
- Communicate. We have a private affiliate Telegram group. Drop questions, share what's working, flag bugs. We'd rather know than have it silently kill conversions.
- Activate within 60 days. Hit at least 1 conversion in your first 60 days. Not punitive: it's about activation. Stuck? Message us. Affiliates with zero activity after 60 days are paused (you can come back any time). Pause only affects the free BYOK perk and cohort participation, not attribution — paused affiliates'
/ref/<code>links still attribute new signups. In v1 attribution requires the ref code at signup; there's no tracking cookie. - Respect the rules. The full do's & don'ts are below. Read them once.
The rules: a closer look
Yes to:
- ✓ Organic content on X, LinkedIn, Farcaster
- ✓ TikTok, YouTube videos & tutorials
- ✓ Blog posts & newsletters
- ✓ WhatsApp communities & Telegram groups
- ✓ Podcasts & IRL events
- ✓ Comparison posts vs. other tools (be fair)
- ✓ Paid ads on non-Borker keywords (with disclosure)
No to:
- ✕ Bidding on "Borker" in paid search ads
- ✕ Spam: cold-DMing strangers en masse
- ✕ Comment-spamming or buying engagement
- ✕ Bait-and-switch: promising what Borker doesn't do
- ✕ Coupon-site or cashback abuse
- ✕ Posing as Borker staff
- ✕ Self-referrals (detected and forfeited)
One commitment from us
We won't change your commission rate without notice. Any change is announced in writing first, with reasonable notice. If we ever lower a rate, anyone who joined under the old rate keeps the old rate for a transition period. And you'll always have a direct line to Jephthah and Sven.
What you get from us
- Your unique affiliate link. Valid forever, until you leave the program.
- Free Borker BYOK account. Subject to the 2 referrals/month minimum (90-day ramp for new affiliates; see Commission & payouts). You bring your own Anthropic API key for AI usage, typically $1–10/month, paid directly to Anthropic. Jephthah will help you set this up.
- Monthly statement. Clicks, conversions, pending & paid balances, payout history. Sent to you each month until the self-service dashboard ships.
- Public media kit. Logos, mascot, color palette, type, product screenshots, and ad starter packs (digital + print). Download the bundle anytime.
- Private sample-copy pack. Ready-to-paste posts for X / LinkedIn / WhatsApp / Threads in Borker's voice. Shared at onboarding so we can iterate on what converts without re-publishing docs.
- "How to talk about Borker" guide + early feature access. The messaging that converts best, plus first dibs on new features so you can post about them before everyone else.
- Direct founder access. Telegram group with Jephthah and Sven. For bugs, ideas, strategy, anything.
The onboarding journey
From "I'm interested" to "I'm earning" in seven steps:
- You apply. Form or DM. Tell us your name, main social handle, what you do, and why Borker fits.
- Quick chat with Jephthah. 15–20 minutes. We answer your questions, you ask the awkward ones, we make sure the fit is real.
- Approved → free BYOK account + your /ref/ link. Set up the same day. You start using Borker immediately.
- Media kit, sample-copy pack, and messaging guide shared. The public kit (logos, colors, screenshots, ad templates) is on the docs; the private sample-copy pack (ready-to-paste X / LinkedIn / WhatsApp posts) lands during onboarding; the messaging guide explains how to use it all. Everything you need.
- Monthly affiliate cohort call. One scheduled call per month with Jephthah and Sven for everyone in the program: Q&A, strategy, what's converting, what's broken. New affiliates that month get an intro slot.
- You start promoting. We track. You earn. Pending commission accrues as conversions land. We send you a monthly statement.
- Monthly payouts on the 7th, once you cross $25 accrued and the 30-day fraud-detection window has passed. USDC direct or USDC → NGN via Jephthah.
This is v1. Some details (commission rates, free-account thresholds, payout rails) may evolve as we learn what works. Any change is announced in writing first, with reasonable notice. Early affiliates have the most influence on how the program shapes up.
